Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], Dec 22 (ANI): The Jaipur Court on Friday sent Jaiprakash Bagarwa and Ashok Kumar to Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody till December 30 in connection with Kolayat Land Scam Case.

Earlier today, the ED arrested both the accused in Kolayat Land Scam Case, under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002.

During the investigation ED also issued a Provisional Attachment Order under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 attaching movable and immovable properties worth Rs. 1.18 Crore.

ED has obtained important leads, while investigating Kolayat (Bikaner) Land scam case, and in pursuant to that has arrested two accused Jaiprakash Bagarwa and Ashok Kumar.

Ashok Kumar is a close associate of Mahesh Nagar, authorised representative Skylight Hospitality Pvt. Ltd. on December 21.

Kolayat Land scam is land grab case, in which the accused in collusion with the state government officials got allotted land on name of fictitious individuals (who were nonexistent) and was earmarked for people, who got displaced due to creation of Mahajan Field Firing Range.

The accused created forged allotment letters purported to be issued by Colonization department and 1422 Bigha land was recorded in revenue record (jamabandies) in the name of these fictitious allottees, without due verification of these allotment letter from Colonization Department. Tehsil officers like Patwari, Girdawar, and Tehsildar were active partners in conspiracy and fraud and allotted land to fictitious people without any verification.

Rajasthan Police had filed 18 charge-sheets initially and later on two more charge-sheets were filed by State Police making Ashok Kumar as an accused among others.

Ashok Kumar was used as conduit by Mahesh Nagar (Authorised representative of Skylight Hospitality Pvt. Ltd.) who knew the fraudulent nature of land.

The Skylight Hospitality Pvt. Ltd had purchased 69.55 hectare land in Rs. 72 Lakh, sold it to Allegeny finlease Pvt Ltd. for Rs. 5.15 crore and earned huge profit of Rs. 4.43 crore. Allegeny finlease Pvt. Ltd as a company is not involved in any real business activity and many of its share holders were found to be nonexistent during investigation.
