Kailash bar fire: Kalasipalya Police Inspector suspended

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India] Jan 11 (ANI): Kalasipalya Police Inspector R Prakash was suspended on Wednesday for dereliction of duty in connection with the death of five people in Bengaluru's Kailash Bar fire.

The five victims, who were employees of the bar, were fast asleep in the Kumbaara Sangha building when the fire broke out in the wee hours of January 7.

Earlier on January 8, a case was registered against four people under section 304 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in the matter, wherein two were arrested.

Bengaluru Development Minister K J George had announced Rs. 5 lakh compensation each for the kin of the workers, who died in the fire.

R V Dayashankar, the owner of Kailash Bar Restaurant, has been absconding after a call from the police.

The reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained and the matter is being investigated. (ANI)
