Washington D.C. [USA], October 24(ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday said that the growth rate of the state has been in two digits since last eight years.

"We have noted that the growth rate of Madhya Pradesh has been in two digits since last eight years. The growth rate in the field of agriculture since last five years is 20 plus. I believe that Madhya Pradesh has become an example for the whole world, which has attained 20 plus growth in agriculture," said Chouhan, while addressing the Seminar on Integral Humanism here.

Chouhan also spoke about the various government schemes, including 'Make in India', 'Startup India', 'Clean India', 'Aam Admi Bima Yojana' (AABY) and 'Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana' for the development of the society.

"In Madhya Pradesh we have decided that the poor will be given Rs.1 kg rice and food grains. Madhya Pradesh and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have also decided that by 2022, no poor will live without cemented houses. They will have their own roof," he said.

"I have made on scheme in Madhjya Pradesh Prime Minister Medhavi Chhatra Protsahan Yojana and have decided that those children who get 75 percent in class 12th, if they get selected in medical college, IIT college, NIT , law college or any other good institute, then their fees would be paid by the state government," he added.

On Tuesday, Chouhan will be part of an interaction with Senior Business Leaders of US in a session organised by US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) and CII to promote investment in Madhya Pradesh.

Thereafter, he will be departing for New York, while making a quick stop at

the Akshardham Temple in New Jersey.

On Wednesday, Chouhan will be attending an interaction session with Senior Business Leaders of US in a session organised by US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) and CII to promote investment in Madhya Pradesh, followed by lunch. Later, he will be visiting the Incubation center at Columbia University.

On Thursday, Chouhan will be holding a series of meetings with Amazon representatives until lunch. In the evening, he will be attending a 'Friends of MP' interactive session at the Indian Consulate in New York, followed by dinner.

On Friday, Chouhan will again be attending a series of one-to-one meetings, and will depart for Mumbai from Newark Airport on Saturday. (ANI)
