New Delhi [India], Dec 17 (ANI): Two gold cylindrical bars worth Rs 56.6 lakh were recovered from two passengers at Indira Gandhi International Airport here on Sunday.
The two men were coming from Dubai and had concealed the gold bars in the transformer of a microwave oven.
"On the basis of suspicion, the officers of Customs Preventive, IGI Airport, New Delhi intercepted two male passengers travelling to Delhi from Dubai. Detailed examination of their baggage resulted in the recovery of two cylindrical bars weighing 2,000 grams which were concealed in the transformer of microwave," an official note read.
"Both the passengers have been arrested under the provisions of Section 104 of the Custom Act, 1962 and further investigation is underway," it added.
On Saturday, five foreign-marked gold bars worth Rs 39.4 lakh were recovered in Delhi, from a passenger, again coming from Dubai. (ANI)
