New Delhi [India], August 20 (ANI): The flight operations at the Delhi airport, which were earlier halted after a pilot reported about spotting a drone above the runway, have now been resumed.

After the operations were brought to a temporary stop, at least two Air India flights were diverted.

Two other flights - G8-175 (LKO-DEL) and 6E-508 (Patna-DEL) - went upto Jaipur, but are now returning to Delhi.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) sources say that the drone was seen at 7:12 p.m. after which the search operation was undertaken.

A clearance to resume the operations was given at 7:55 p.m., the sources add.

Earlier, a team of the CISF, the Delhi Police and the aviation security was rushed to the the Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Further details are awaited.

Earlier on August 2, a suspected object was recovered at the cargo hold area of the airport.

The Airport Security Officials said that an emergency call was received by the control room that a suspect item has been seen in the cargo area.

The area was later declared safe. (ANI)
