Agartala (Tripura) [India], Oct.23 (ANI): A two-day workshop on 'India Bangladesh Border : Interaction and Cross Border Relations with special reference to Northeast and Roads Ahead' has started in Agartala, Tripura.

The workshop is jointly organised by Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Tripura University (TU) and OKD Institute of Social Change and Development, Guwahati in collaboration with Sasakawa Peace Foundation (SPF) of Japan.

Vice Chancellor of Tripura University Professor A K Ghosh, said that the workshop has been organised to promote people to people relation and for that the Tripura University has started spreading the culture between the two nations.

He informed that the TU already have few students' including for Ph.D from Bangladesh and is going for exchange of faculties and scholars with various universities of Bangladesh for strengthening the bond between the two nations and for better understanding.

Meantime, SPF representative Jui Nakamura said that peace is an integral and most important for development of the region and along with it is security issues which are very complicated but the governments have to look into it.

She added that keeping in view of China growing an immerging power the development of India-Japan bilateral relationship is very vital.

She said that in spite of the differences between China and Japan with complex geo-political difference on various issues there should be continuous people-to-people dialogue in neighouring nation and that should continue whatever may be the situation as it is vital for peace and development.

Various issue related to the growing multilateral Indo-Bangladesh relationship including people-to-people will be discussed and the draft will be submitted at various levels in both the nation for further improving ties between the two nations. (ANI)
