Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) [India] February 26th, 2018: The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) on Monday signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) and the Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission (APSECM), state-designated agency for providing technical assistance to the APCRDA, for construction of energy efficient buildings as per Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) - 2017.

The tripartite MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N. Chandrababu Naidu, on the third day of the Confederation of Indian Industries Partnership (CII) summit, along with many other high ranking officials and other ministers from Andhra Pradesh's energy ministry.

As per the MoU entered, the BEE shall extend its support in the hiring of consultants, which will be operated by the APSECM, and would provide financial assistance towards the execution of super ECBC model buildings.

It'll also develop action plans towards the construction of energy efficient buildings, enhancing the capacity of stakeholders and the monitoring of energy consumption patterns of all new and existing government buildings through Energy Monitoring Information System (EMIS).

The APCRDA would be providing assistance to architects, developers, designers and other stakeholders, incorporate features of ECBC in Schedule of Rates, integration of ECBC in municipal by-laws, facilitating third-party agreements towards the creation of the ECBC professionals, master trainers.

It will also ensure increasing awareness about energy efficient practices through various media like webinars and public forums.

This agreement might be seen as baby steps towards creating a futuristic, technological marvel of a city as is planned for the soon-to-be new capital of Andhra Pradesh, Amaravati.(ANI)
