New Delhi [India], May 25 (ANI): The Delhi High Court on Friday asked former Telecom Minister A. Raja, DMK MP Kanimozhi along with others accused, in the 2G spectrum allocation scam case, to reply to Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) appeal challenging their acquittal.

The court will next hear the case on August 10.

Besides that, the court also ordered the accused to reply to a plea of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) challenging their acquittal in the money-laundering case arising out of the 2G scam. The ED case will next be heard on August 6.

The Delhi High Court today also sought the response of Essar Group promoters Ravi Kant Ruia and Anshuman Ruia and the promoters of Loop Telecom on another CBI plea challenging their acquittal in the 2G scam. The third case will next be taken up in the court on August 2.

Justice S P Garg issued notices to Ravi and Anshuman and others and sought their reply on the CBI's appeal against the trial court decision of December 21, 2017.

On March 20, an appeal was filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the acquittal of former telecom minister A. Raja and others in the 2G spectrum case.

In a surprising judgment, a special CBI court last year acquitted all key accused, including A Raja, in the 2G spectrum allocation case, citing lack of "prosecutable evidence". (ANI)
