Kanker(Chhattisgarh) [India] July 09 (ANI): Two Border Security Force (BSF) constables lost their lives in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast in Chhattisgarh's Kanker district on Monday.

The incident took place at around 05:00 pm near south of Marbeda camp, which lies under the jurisdiction of Chhottebediya police station.

Santosh Laxman and Vijaynand Nayak, who were residents of Karnataka, were posted under the paramilitary force's 121 Battalion.

Deputy Inspector General (anti-naxal operations) Chhattisgarh Police, P Sundarraj confirmed that both of the constable were on area domination duty.

Last month, two jawans of 231 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were injured in an IED blast by the Naxals in Dantewada.

Earlier on May 20, six jawans were killed and one was injured in an IED blast in Dantewada's Cholnar village.(ANI)
