The port city of Marseille, renowned as France’s second-largest urban centre and a significant Mediterranean hub, served as an ideal backdrop for Indian and French leaders to discuss the revitalisation of the ambitious India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC). During this pivotal meeting, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron jointly inaugurated the Indian consulate in Marseille, marking the port city as a crucial location within the proposed
