India, China To Achieve April 2020 ‘Status Quo Ante’ On Demchok, Depsang; Buffer Zones To Stay ‘For Now’

Patrolling pact agreed by India & China on Oct 21 concerns only Demchok area & Depsang plains. Buffer zones or demilitarised areas that got created in Eastern Ladakh sector of LAC will stay for now.

India-China LAC Pact: The patrolling arrangement that has been worked out between India and China in the early hours of Monday, October 21, at the Eastern Ladakh sector of the Line of Actual Control (LAC) will restore the “status quo ante” of April 2020 even as both the Indian Army and the Chinese People’s Republic Army (PLA) will go back to their old patrolling points in the Demchok area and Depsang plains, which used to exist before the standoff began, multiple sources told
