New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the Budget announcements in the health sector maintained focus on health and wellness. “Three factors taken into consideration (in Budget)- Modern infrastructure and human resource expansion, encouraging research, and adopting modern and futuristic technology,” said PM Modi during webinar on budget announcements in Health sector.
“Be it Swachh Bharat Mission, Fit India Mission, Nutrition Mission, Mission Indradhanush, Ayushman Bharat, Jal Jeevan Mission, we have to take all such missions to maximum number of people,” said the PM .
In his speech, Modi encouraged private sector participation for creating medical institutes. “Today our children are going to smaller countries for education, especially medical education where there is a language problem. India's trillions of rupees are going out. Can't our private sector come into this sector in large numbers?, questioned Modi.
Modi also insisted on creating inducive policies by state in which land can be allotted for such works so that India can produce more doctors and also fulfill the demand of the world.
"Today the whole world is also accepting the role of Ayush. It is a matter of pride for us that WHO is going to create Global Center of Traditional Medicine," said Modi.
“Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission will offer an interface between consumer and healthcare provider. With this, both offering and receiving treatment in the country will become easier. Not only this, it will also facilitate global access to India's quality and affordable healthcare system," added the PM.
The webinar will include sessions on Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, e-Sanjeevani and Tele-Mental Health Programme will follow the inauguration.
Earlier, the Prime Minister also participated in similar webinars held for Defence, Education, Rural Development and Agriculture sectors. The webinars focus on the successful implementation of Budget 2022-23.
Union health and Ayush ministers Mansukh Mandaviya and Sarbananda Sonowal is chairing the valedictory session. VK Paul, member (health), NITI Aayog, will moderate the session on Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission after National Health Authority additional CEO Praveen Gedam’s presentation.
Devi Shetty, chairman, Narayana Health; Upasana Arora, Yashoda Hospital; Ameera Shah, MD, Metropolis Lab; Harsh Mahajan, president, NATHEALTH; and Rajeev Vasudevan of AyurVaid Hospitals will be among the speakers.
