Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir crossed 1000 cases a day mark for the first time with a highest-ever spike of novel coronavirus cases. Among the cases, that 622 were reported from the Jammu division and 457 from Kashmir valley.

Giving district-wise break, officials said that Srinagar reported 139, Baramulla 14, Pulwama 33, Budgam 63, Anantnag 27, Bandipora 49, Kupwara 30, Kulgam 17, Shopian 28, Ganderbal 57, Jammu 484, Rajouri 15, Kathua 21, Udhampur 16, Samba 26, Ramban 6, Doda 14, Poonch 8, Reasi 10 and Kishtwar 22.

Moreover, they reported that 680 more Covid-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 104 from Jammu Division and 576 from Kashmir Valley.

The death toll is also showing a steady rise with 11 more deaths reported during the last 24 hours taking the total death toll to 743, with 3 deaths reported from Jammu and 8 from Kashmir division.

Meanwhile, according to the data provided by the Health Ministry, India recorded the highest surge of 83,883 corona positive cases in the last 24 hours. The country's overall tally has mounted to 38,53,406, while the death toll climbed to 67,376 as 1,043 people succumbed to the disease in a single day.
