India on Friday recorded 3,611 Covid cases in a day as the active cases dipped to 33,232 from 36,244 a day earlier, according to Union Health Ministry data. On Thursday, India witnessed a slight jump in the daily covid cases tally with 3,962 fresh infections.
The death toll has increased to 5,31,642 with 36 deaths, which includes nine reconciled by Kerala, the data updated at 8 am stated. While the Covid case tally was recorded at 4.49 crore (4,49,64,289).
The active cases now comprise 0.07 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.74 per cent, the ministry said.
The number of people who have recuperated from the disease stands at 4,43,99,415 while the case fatality rate is 1.18 per cent.
So far, 220.66 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered to people across the country nder the nationwide vaccination drive, according to the ministry's website.
Covid Cases In Delhi
Meanwhile, the national capital recorded 199 fresh coronavirus cases on Thursday, with a positivity rate of 7.07 percent. Three deaths were also recorded, according to data shared by the city government's health department.
With this, Delhi's case tally climbed to 20,39,741 and the death toll rose to 26,637, a health department bulletin further said.
The fresh cases emerged from 2,815 tests conducted the previous day, the bulletin stated.
The number of active cases stood at 1,653. Of these, 1,303 patients are in home isolation, it said.
Covid Cases In Mumbai
While in Mumbai, the number of Covid cases stood at 11,63,086 on Thursday. The death toll remained unchanged at 19,766, a civic official said, according to PTI.
The recovery count increased by 135 to reach 11,42,691, leaving the city with an active caseload of 629.
As per civic data, the recovery rate was 98.2 per cent, the overall growth rate of cases between April 27 and May 3 was 0.0073 per cent, while the caseload doubling time was 8,732 days.
