India Covid-19 Cases: With as many as 83,341 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, India on Friday crossed the 4 million mark. Country's tally of Covid-19 cases till date stands at 40,06,162 after India reported its highest one-day tally of 83,341 cases on September 4. As per the latest updates from the government of India, country's death toll reads as 68,472.

The authorities in the latest Covid-19 bulletin also reported that India's total Covid-19 recoveries have crossed 30 lakh (30,37,151) today. With the recovery of 66,659 in the last 24 hours, India has continued its trajectory of posting more than 60000 recoveries for the 8th consecutive day. The Recovery Rate amongst the COVID-19 patients is 77.15 per cent demonstrating that the number of patients recovering is on a steady rise over the past several months.

Worst C0vid-Hit States Across India

Meanwhile, states like Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu continue to be the worst Covid-hit states in the country. Have a quick look on the Covid-19 status of some of the worst-hit states across India.

Maharashtra: According to the Maharashtra Health Department, 378 deaths and 19,218 new cases detected in the state in past 24 hours. With this, the total number of positive cases in the state is 8,63,062 including 6,25,773 recovered patients, 2,10,978 active cases and 25,964 deaths.

Madhya Pradesh: According to the state health bulletin, 1,658 new Covid-19 cases and 30 deaths were reported in Madhya Pradesh in the last 24 hours, taking active cases to 15,474, recoveries to 53,257 and death toll to 1,513

Tamil Nadu: Puducherry registered its highest single-day Covid-19 toll with 20 deaths, beating the previous highest of 13 deaths a few days back, while 591 more tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours ending 10 am on Friday.

Gujarat: Gujarat meanwhile has become the 11th state to have 1 lakh cumulative Covid-19 patients as it recorded 1,325 new positive cases, the highest single-day tally in the past hours. As per the latest updates, the total cases in Gujarat now stand at 1,00,375. An analysis reveals that the last 25,000 cases were recorded in the past 23 days compared to 90 days it took for the state to cross the first 25,000 cases.

Kerala: As many as 1,553 Covid-19 cases were reported in the state yesterday. At present, 21,516 patients are undergoing treatment in the State and currently there are a total of 1.92 lakh people under quarantine in various districts. The death toll in the State so far is 315.
