New Delhi: While medical researchers are working on finding a cure and develop a vaccine, it has become the responsibility of citizens to practice the measures prescribed by the experts to keep the virus from spreading. The Ministry of Ayush has given certain tips to help boost immunity. Although these are all Ayurvedic remedies, it is advised that they are practiced after consulting an ayurvedic medical practitioner.


General Tips

  • Drink warm water throughout the day.

  • Daily practice of Yogasana, Pranayama and meditation for at least 30 minutes as advised by Ministry of AYUSH

  • Spices like Haldi (Turmeric), Jeera (Cumin), Dhaniya (Coriander), and Lahsun (Garlic) are recommended in cooking.


Ayurvedic Immunity Boosting Tips

  • Take Chyavanprash 10gm (1tsf) in the morning. Diabetics should take sugar-free Chyavanprash.

  • Drink herbal tea/decoction (Kadha) made from Tulsi (Basil), Dalchini (Cinnamon), Kalimirch (Black pepper), Shunthi (Dry Ginger) and Munakka

  • (Raisin) - once or twice a day. Add jaggery (natural sugar) and/or fresh lemon juice to your taste, if needed.

  • Golden Milk- Half teaspoon Haldi (turmeric) powder in 150 ml hot milk - once or twice a day


Aside from which general tips that have been given by medical researchers to avoid Coronavirus:

  • Wash hands with soap or alcohol-based sanitizer at regular intervals.

  • Avoid touching your face, eyes, ears, or mouth.

  • Keep a safe distance from anyone who is coughing or sneezing.

  • Always cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or elbow while coughing or sneezing.

  • Wear a mask if you step outside your home.

  • Do not go out unless absolutely necessary, avoid groups at all cost.

  • If you touch surfaces that are unknown to you like elevator buttons, apply hand sanitizer.

  • Also, it is a good idea to sanitize your phone with a sanitizing wipe.
