New Delhi: As India continues to battle the Covid-19 pandemic, the Centre on Saturday listed some post-vaccination symptoms, including shortness of breath and weakness in any body part, which may require immediate attention.


Sharing a graphic on Twitter, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry suggested all to be alert regarding the symptoms that occur within 20 days of administration of any vaccine.

Below is the list of symptoms within 20 days of vaccination that may require immediate attention:



  • Shortness of breath

  • Chest pain

  • Vomiting or persistent abdominal pain

  • Blurred vision or pain in the eyes

  • Severe or persistent headache

  • Weakness in any body part

  • Pain in limbs or swelling in arms or feet


“Symptoms that occur within 20 days of administration of any COVID-19 vaccine require immediate attention. Shortness of breath, chest pain, vomiting or persistent abdominal pain, blurred vision, severe or persistent headache. #StaySafe,” the ministry tweeted.



Meanwhile, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage surpassed the landmark figure of 79 crore with the administration of more than 2.5 crore vaccine doses in the last 24 hours.


The Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry in a release said the total vaccination, as per the 7 a.m. provisional data, is 2.15 crore, while the total vaccination reported by the states is over 2.5 crores.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the country on this stupendous achievement and said “every Indian would be proud of today’s record vaccination numbers”.
