Delhi: Since more than a year, with coronavirus raging in the country, there has been no much light shed on other critical health issues, but now when the second wave is on the declining trend of Covid cases, the skeletons from closet seems to be rolling out. Nearly four lakh children have been affected in India due to a rare syndrome called Fragile X Syndrome (FXS). This syndrome hasn't made much headlines as the focus was completely on eradicating the deadly virus and the governments have been shelling out tens and thousands of crore to do the same.

According to experts, this rare disorder needs to be given utmost attension as this disease is an inherited condition that could cause autism and intellectual disability in children. In the month of january actor Boman Irani explained about this rare syndrome in kids on his indtagram page: "It is an inherited condition in children, that causes intellectual disability. I can affect nearly, 1 to 5,000 kids but in India four lakh are affected." He urged people to create awareness about this inherited condition.
