Dr. Bipin Jibhkate at Wockhardt Hospital Mumbai says fibromyalgia is a painful condition, and pain usually occurs in the muscles, soft tissue, and veins of the body, pain is the most common symptom in this condition.


What are the causes and symptoms of Fibromyalgia?


According to the doctor, the main symptoms of this condition include sleeplessness, pain in muscles and joints and fatigue. Apart from that, this condition is often accompanied with anxiety and depression, trouble in concentration, frequently upset stomach, pain, numbness in hands and feet.


The exact causes of fibromyalgia are unclear, there may be different reasons for different people. The reasons behind it may also be genetic. There are also some risk factors that can trigger the development of this condition. 


How to identify fibromyalgia?


Bipin Jibhkate states that it is not easy to detect the disease as there is no special test for it. But a doctor can know about fibromyalgia based on your symptoms. He says that the main feature of fibromyalgia is pain throughout the body, so the doctor will ask you to describe your pain so as to distinguish between fibromyalgia and other diseases with similar symptoms. 


Is fibromyalgia a treatable disease?


Fibromyalgia may affect the quality of your life, but it is still treatable disease. The doctor explained that fibromyalgia is not a life-threatening disease, but the patient's recovery may take time. Therefore, the patient should not give up treatment in between, otherwise it can worsen your symptoms.
