New Delhi: Delhi on Saturday recorded 1,407 new cases of COVID-19. The national capital witnessed a 15% decrease in COVID-19 cases compared to the previous day, when it had 1656 new cases, according to a health department bulletin, news agency ANI reported.
Two COVID-19-related fatalities were recorded in the national capital, while 1,546 individuals recovered from the illness.
The number of active cases in the national capital fell slightly to 5,955, and the positivity rate fell to 4.72 percent from 5.39 percent the day before.
In the last 24 hours, the city administered 29,821 COVID-19 tests. For the previous eleven days, Delhi has reported over 1,000 coronavirus infections every day.
In Delhi, there were 4,365 infected individuals in home isolation and 183 admitted to the hospital.
According to the health bulletin, only 2.21 percent, or 212 beds, of the 9,590 hospital beds are filled. In the previous 24 hours, the capital vaccinated 24,564 individuals.
Delhi reported 1,656 COVID-19 cases on Friday, with zero fatalities, the highest since February 4, and a positivity rate of 5.39 %, according to data given by the municipal health department.
During the third wave of the pandemic, the number of daily COVID-19 cases in Delhi reached a record high of 28,867 on January 13 this year.
Meanwhile, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain stated on Wednesday that the number of hospital admissions is still relatively low and that the city's COVID-19 situation is not that critical at the moment.
India COVID-19 Tally
On the other hand, India on Saturday reported 3,805 new coronavirus infections, 3,168 recoveries, and 22 deaths in 24 hours.
According to the Union health ministry data, India's infection tally rose to 4,30,98,743, while the active cases have risen to 20,303.
On Friday, India reported 3,545 new COVID infections 3,549 recoveries, and 27 deaths.
Currently, the active cases of Coronavirus in the country constitute 0.05 per cent of the total infections while the COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 98.74 per cent.
The ministry data updated at 8 am showed that the total recoveries were at 4,25,54,416, while the death toll climbed to 5,24,024.
The country's daily COVID positivity rate was reported to be at 0.78 per cent and the weekly positivity rate at 0.79 per cent.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in India rose by 615 in a 24-hour span to reach 20,303.
