New Delhi: Amid growing threat of the Covid-19 Omicron variant, Delhi and Maharashtra capital Mumbai on Saturday reported over 20,000 fresh cases each and 12 deaths.


The national capital reported 20,181 fresh Covid-19 infections, 11,869 recoveries and 7 deaths. The Covid active cases in Delhi as of now is 48,178, while the daily positivity rate is 19.6%.


Around 25,143 people have so far lost their lives due to Covid-19 in Delhi.


Maharashtra capital Mumbai logged 20,318 fresh Covid cases and five deaths on Saturday.


There are 1,06,037 active cases in the financial capital, while the bed occupancy is 21.4%, ANI reported.


Earlier in the day, the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry said that a total of 1,41,986 new Covid-19 cases were reported in the last 24 hours.


The Health Ministry said India’s active caseload stands at 4,72,169 and it is currently at 1.34 percent.


With 40,895 recoveries in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry said the total recoveries currently is 3,44,12,740.


The ministry added that the recovery rate in the country currently stands at 97.30%


The Health Ministry said the daily positivity rate is 9.28%, while the weekly positivity rate is 5.66%.


The ministry said 68.84 crore total tests have been conducted so far.


The Health Ministry in a release also informed that 150.06 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
