New Delhi: India logged 1,67,059 fresh covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours with 1,192 deaths and 2,54,076 recoveries. The current caseload stands at 17,43,059 cases. The daily positivity rate has come down to 11.69 percent. On the other hand, the fatality rate stands at 1.2 percent.


While Kerala recorded 42,154 fresh covid cases in the last 24 hours, the cases in Maharashtra have seen a drop. Maharashtra recorded 15,140 fresh covid cases with 39 fatalities. Along with that, 91 fresh Omicron cases were also recorded. 








Delhi reported 2,779 new covid-19 cases with 38 deaths. The positivity rate in Delhi stands at 6.20 percent according to news agency PTI.


Considering the decline in daily new cases, the Delhi government has relaxed covid-19 curbs in certain areas. The night curfew has been lifted and the weekly markets have also been allowed. 


Maharashtra government also issued a notification on Monday lifting covid-19 related curbs. As per Maharashtra’s new guidelines, districts with 90 percent partially vaccinated population and 70 fully vaccinated population can be opened at 50 percent capacity. 


The new guidelines, issued on Monday, allow the reopening of tourist places, including national parks and safaris, reopening of spas, beaches, gardens, and parks. The timings of these places will be decided by local authorities, however, the capacity for spas has been capped at 50 percent. 


While the funerals no longer have the capacity limit, marriages can be conducted with 25 percent or 200 guests, whichever is lower. The list of districts that fall in the reopening category will be revised every week with respect to vaccination data.
