The 26th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) has been postponed in the wake of surging COVID-19 cases, State Cultural Minister Saji Cherian said, news agency PTI reported. The annual festival, organised by Kerala State Chalachitra Academy on behalf of Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala, was set to be held from February 4-11.
"Over 3.5 crore children between the 15-18 age group have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, since 3rd January," tweets Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviy.
Kerala Education Minister V Sivankutty on Monday said, "967 schools with above 500 student beneficiaries each shall be transformed into vaccination centres from January 19 for children between the age group of 15 to 18 years. A total of 8.14 lakh students will get vaccinated."
Dept of Personnel & Administrative Reforms issues instructions that'll remain in effect till 31st Jan, for Govt offices in the UT of Puducherry. As per the directives, Group 'A' officers & officers from the level of Under Secys to Govt & equivalent/other Administrative Heads shall attend office with full strength. However, Group B & C officials shall attend office as per the requirement with 50% staff strength.
The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare tweeted on Monday that "Test, track, treat, vaccinate and Covid appropriate behaviour" remain the key mantra to effectively deal with the Covid-19 pandemic.
"Delhi to report around 14,000-15,000 cases today, much less than yesterday. Around 2.85cr doses have been administered in Delhi; 100% eligible population inoculated with 1st dose, 80% with 2nd dose, & 1.28 lakh people received precautionary dose," said Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain to ANI.

Coronavirus HIGHLIGHTS: India is undergoing a massive surge in the number of Covid-19 cases since the dawn of the new year. New Delhi, Mumbai, and other cities have become the epicenters of Covid-19, but, apart from the cities, even J&K is facing ten times more Covid cases in the state.
India reported 7,743 Omicron positive cases in the last 24 hours, which is 28.17 percent higher than Saturday, according to Press Information Bureau. The fresh covid-19 cases reported in the last 24 hours is 2,71,202 which is 2,369 cases higher than yesterday.
Although the cases in the country were following an upward trail, the fatality of the cases in this Covid-19 surge is something that is being discussed. More than 80% of beds are available in Delhi's hospitals despite the massive surge in cases.
With the administration of more than 66 lakh Doses (66,21,395) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 156.76 Cr (1,56,76,15,454) as per provisional reports till 7 am on Sunday.
Delhi on Sunday reported 18,286 COVID-19 cases and 28 deaths, while the positivity rate dropped to 27.87 percent from 30.64 percent a day ago, according to health department data.
The state also reported 125 new cases of the Omicron variant of Coronavirus, raising the overall count to 1,730.
India, on January 16 completed a year of administering Covid-19 vaccines to its citizens. India has registered 156 crore vaccine doses so far.
