New Delhi: India on Friday reported 1,685 fresh COVID-19 cases, 2,499 recoveries, and 83 deaths in the last 24 hours.


The new coronavirus infections took the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,30,16,372, while the active cases dipped to 21,530.

According to the Union Health Ministry data, the death toll climbed to 5,16,755 with the fresh fatalities.


The active cases comprise 0.05 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate is at 98.75 per cent.


The number of people who have recuperated from COVID-19 increased to 4,24,78,087.


The cumulative COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country crossed 182.55 crores so far, according to the ministry data.

Coronavirus Cases In Kerala, Maharashtra, Delhi


Kerala on Thursday recorded 558 fresh infections which raised the total to 65,29,651 so far.

Also, the southern State reported 74 deaths which raised the total to 67,550 till date, according to an official press release.

Of the 74, two were reported in the last 24 hours, eight occurred in the last few days but were not recorded due to late receipt of documents and 64 were designated as COVID-19 deaths after receiving appeals based on the new guidelines of the Centre and the directions of the Supreme Court, the release said.

With 773 more people recovering from the virus since Wednesday, the number of recoveries reached 64,56,428 and the active cases dropped to 4,802 till date, it said.


Maharashtra on Thursday reported 139 new coronavirus cases and three fresh fatalities linked to the disease, while 255 more patients were discharged following recovery.

With this, the tally of COVID-19 cases in the state rose to 78,72,956, while the death toll increased to 1,43,772, a heath department bulletin said.

Mumbai reported the highest COVID-19 among all the cities in the state at 54.

Significantly, Maharashtra's active cases dropped below the 1,000-mark.

As per the department, the number of recovered cases in Maharashtra increased to 77,24,214 after 255 patients were discharged during the day, leaving the state with 965 active cases.


Delhi on Thursday reported 111 fresh COVID-19 cases and one death, while the positivity rate stood at 0.38 per cent, according to data shared by the city health department.

With this, the national capital's case count has increased to 18,64,246 and the death toll has climbed to 26,149, the bulletin stated.

As many as 29,223 COVID-19 tests were conducted the previous day, it said.

Delhi had on Wednesday reported 132 COVID-19 cases with a positivity rate of 0.40 per cent, and no death.

On multiple days in March so far, the city has recorded no deaths.
