Good News For Delhiites As Covid-19 Cases Dip In National Capital, Recovery Rate Inches Close To 95%

While Covid-19 recovery rate inches towards 95%, HC asks govt to review the decision of retaining 80% hospital beds as many are lying vacant. Know all about the coronavirus situation in the national capital.

New Delhi: The national capital after undergoing a deeply worrying third wave of Coronavirus infections is seeing a hopeful trend as the recovery rate gets close to 95 percent. ALSO READ | Those With History Of Allergies Should Not Take Pfizer's Covid-19 Vaccine, UK Cautions After 2 Reported Reactions According to the Health bulletin released by the state government, the number of tests conducted was 7,2079 and out of these 2,463 people were found to be Covid-19 positive in the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, the number of patients who recovered from the infection was 4,177 while 50 deaths have been reported. As for the total cases, the national capital has witnessed 5,99,575 infections over the period while total recoveries have reached 5,69,216. The death toll is 9,813. Out of these, the patients who are active cases at this point are 20,546. Here is the detailed health bulletin released on Wednesday:

Meanwhile, looks like the back and forth over the hospital beds reserved for treating Covid patients is not yet over as the High Court today asked the Delhi government to immediately review its decision of retaining 80 percent of such beds. The court stated this as around 50 percent of ICU beds reserved in private hospitals for Covid patients are lying vacant. As mentioned in the bulletin, out of 18,806 beds reserved in hospitals, only 5,417 are occupied while 13,389 are vacant. 12,186 people are recovering in home isolation.
