After the coronavirus infection, patients are also struggling with memory loss issues. Many people who have defeated the virus are now suffering from mental weakness and amnesia. Memory-related problems are coming to the fore in different hospitals amongst people who beat the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most of them are senior citizens who have been admitted to the ICU due to severe infection. However, several young individuals are also facing this kind of problem.

Lack Of Oxygen Responsible For The Problem
According to experts, the SARS-CoV-2 virus first attacks the lungs. As a result, the body does not get an adequate supply of oxygen. The oxygen flow to the brain is reduced, which can lead to memory problems. This issue is evident in critical patients who are recovering from the coronavirus infection.

Avoid Excessive Exercise For 3 Months
Doctors reckon that people are facing these issues approximately a month later. Lots of people have complained that they have started forgetting little things. In medical parlance, it is called 'Post-COVID Syndrome.' An MRI can help you learn about the damage to the brain. There is both a cure and a medicine for this kind of amnesia. However, you have to ensure that you should not exercise too much in the initial 3 months.

Hypoxic Brain Injury
Experts believe that this problem of amnesia is increasing during the second wave of COVID. This condition is called 'Hypoxic Brain Injury.' It takes a long time for the patient to recover from this condition. The brain needs 25 percent of the oxygen required by the whole body. If you do not get enough oxygen, it starts affecting your brain.

Young People Are Also Struggling With Memory Loss
Generally, such cases are more common amongst older people. The condition is common in senior citizens who have been seriously affected by the coronavirus and have been in the ICU. However, many such patients have also come to the fore whose age is between 35 and 40 years. Experts say that after the coronavirus infects you, the risk of headaches, paralysis, and epilepsy also increases. A lot of people experience loss of taste and smell, which can also affect sleep.

This could also be a cause of forgetfulness
To fight the coronavirus, the immune cells become overactive, which sometimes damages the healthy cells of the brain.
Oftentimes, people have a fear of getting infected again, which may lead to insomnia. The cells in the nervous system of such people are affected.

What To Do To Avoid Amnesia?
The most important thing is that you must get at least 8-9 hours of sleep at night. Stay away from any fear and speculations, and do not let negative things affect your mind. To stay stress-free and happy, you can resort to yoga and meditation. Follow a healthy diet. Consume food that is rich in minerals, proteins, and vitamins. Avoid smoking and restrict the intake of alcohol.
