India reported 6,041 Omicron positive cases in the last 24 hours, which is 5.01 percent higher than yesterday, according to news agency ANI. The fresh covid-19 cases reported in the last 24 hours is 2,68,833 which is slightly higher than yesterday. 


With this, the active caseload in India stands at 14,17,820. The daily positivity rate stands at 16.66 percent. There have been 1,22,684 recoveries in the last 24 hours as the recovery rate stands at 95.20 percent. 







The number of deaths reported in the last 24 hours is 402 that has taken the total death toll since the beginning of the pandemic to 4,85,752.





With the administration of more than 58 lakh Doses (58,02,976) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 156.02 Cr (1,56,02,51,117) as per provisional reports till 7 am on Saturday.


This has been achieved through 1,67,37,458 sessions.


The Coronavirus surge in Delhi continued to surpass the fresh infections in Mumbai as both cities reported 24,383 and 11,317 cases respectively on Friday.


Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said that while COVID-19 cases are rising rapidly in the national capital, there is no reason to worry as hospitalisation and death rates are quite low.
