The Centre earlier held a meeting with all-existing drug manufacturers to discuss the increase in production and supply and also to reduce the price of Remdesivir injection as several states, including the worst-affected Maharashtra, demanded adequate supply of the anti-viral drug.
Earlier on April 11, the Centre prohibited exports of injection Remdesivir and Remdesivir Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) till the covid situation in the country improves while initiating various steps to ensure easy access of the anti-viral drug to patients and hospitals.
