"There has been a rise in Covid-19 cases. We can call this the third wave of Covid cases here. From September-October, the cases began to decline. We are monitoring the situation and will take all necessary actions. There is no dearth of beds in the hospital and medical infrastructure," he said.
The Chief Minister responded to media persons while he was in Hiranki village to witness the effectiveness of the bio-decomposing process of converting stubble to fertilizer.
Earlier, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain had also stated that the Delhiites are undergoing a third wave of Coronavirus cases.
"About 6,800 beds are occupied in Delhi due to Covid-19 while 9,000 are available. We can call this the 3rd wave of Covid cases here but we have focused on aggressive testing in the last 15 days so the spike can be attributed to that too," he has said.

While Satyendar Jain attributes increased testing as the reason behind the rising cases, experts believe that it may be a minor factor while the real issue may be everything reopening and people being out and about as if nothing has happened all this while.
Questions are being raised as to whether the government needs to go back to restricting economic activities to essential services and put a limit to the number of people that can gather at one spot.
As for the number of Coronavirus cases in Delhi, as per data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Delhi has 36,375 active Covid-19 cases, while total cases stand at 403096. 3,60,069 patients have recovered/migrated and 6,652 people have succumbed to the disease to date.
