Volkswagen is teaming up with AirConsole, a popular gaming platform, to offer a new in-car gaming experience to drivers and passengers. The feature will be available in a range of Volkswagen models, including the ID.7 Tourer, ID.5, ID.4, and ID.3 product lines, starting this fall. The new Passat, Tiguan, Golf, and Golf Estate will also integrate this feature.
The partnership aims to bring a new form of entertainment to people on the road, particularly during charging stops or breaks. The AirConsole platform will transform the vehicle's infotainment screen into a gaming console, while the smartphone will function as the controller. This setup allows passengers to enjoy multiplayer gaming on the go, similar to a home gaming console setup.

Select Countries To Get It First
Volkswagen plans to launch AirConsole in select European countries by mid-September, with further expansion and additional games expected by early 2025. The new platform supports multiple players and allows both front and rear passengers to participate in the games when the car is parked.
How Will Gaming Work
To start gaming, users simply need to connect their smartphone to the vehicle’s infotainment system by scanning a QR code displayed on the screen. Once connected, they can immediately begin playing. The AirConsole app supports both solo and multiplayer modes, providing a social gaming experience for all passengers in the vehicle.
