The much-anticipated release of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League in early access today has encountered a snag, with some players already claiming victory before the official launch in the gaming world's strangest case of 100 per cent speedrun.

Addressing the issue, the game's official social media account acknowledged that upon initial login, certain players found themselves with a completed story mode. In response, the development team announced a server maintenance session to rectify the situation. During this downtime, the game will be inaccessible, and the team estimates that the process will take several hours. Apologies were extended for any inconvenience caused.

Despite the option for solo play, an online connection is mandatory, rendering Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League unplayable for the time being due to the ongoing maintenance. Attempting to access the game during this period will result in an error message. Players who successfully entered may have unintentionally exposed themselves to spoilers by opening a save file with the story mode already concluded.

The launch hiccups don't end there, as the addition of Denuvo DRM, an anti-tamper measure, was implemented just before the game's release, TheGamer.com reported. This measure prevents offline play and requires a hub such as Steam for launching. While intended to deter piracy, DRM implementations often face backlash due to potential performance issues and crashes. Some game developers have even reversed such decisions, as seen in the case of Payday 3.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has faced challenges beyond technical issues, including negative previews and criticism for its live-service elements, leading to an unprecedented one-year delay. The game is now available in early access for pre-order customers, with the official launch scheduled for February 2 for all players.
