Sony has announced a special 'summer sale' offer for the PlayStation 5 lovers. The sale offer is applicable on the PlayStation 5 Slim model and during this sale, it will be available at a discounted price of Rs 49,990. The sale begins on May 1 and it will last till May 14 or until stocks last on platforms like Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, Croma, Reliance, Sony Center, Vijay Sales, and other participating retailers. This model of the PlayStation was revealed recently only at an introductory price of Rs 54,990.


The company has decided to offer a flat discount of Rs 5,000 on the disc version of the device which has brought down the effective price to Rs 49,990. This offer will only be applicable to two models: CFI-2008A01 and CFI-2008B01.


So far Sony has not announced any special discounts on the digital version of the PlayStation 5 Slim which is currently available for Rs 45,990. This particular version is even slimmer and features a modular design that can be upgraded with a Blu-ray drive in the future. Don't be fooled by the slimness of it, the PS5 Slim is as powerful as the standard model, which is currently priced at Rs 44,990.



The PS5 Slim model has undergone a design revamp and it now hits the market shelves with an internal storage of 1TB as compared to the 825GB which the previous models were offering. The storage can be expanded in both models with the help of a PCle Gen5 SSD. Additionally, the PS5 Slim sports a four-side panel design whereas the standard one features a two-panel design.


PlayStation 5 Professional Version?


Additionally, Sony is expected to take it a notch up. It is expected that the company will introduce a professional version of the PlayStation 5 in the market by the end of this year. The upcoming console is likely to be the most powerful gaming device from the brand.


According to reports, it will be capable of providing consistent 4K HDR gaming with ray tracing functionality. Notably, the price of this model will be higher than the existing ones.
