PlayStation Plus free games for the month of October have been revealed, and they’re a treat, to say the least. From bringing your childhood racing fantasies to life, to pitting iconic DC superheroes against one another, PS Plus Essential, Extra, and Deluxe users will surely have their hands full with a trio of exciting free games coming their way in the coming month. As per Sony, the three free games will be available starting October 4 and can be accessed by any subscriber of PS Plus Essential, PS Plus Extra, or PS Plus Deluxe plans.

Needless to say, users have until October 3 to add the free games for September to their library to be able to download and play them later. The free games lineup include: Need for Speed Heat, Granblue Fantasy: Versus, and Toem.

Now, let’s take a quick look at the three free PS Plus games for October:

Hot Wheels Unleashed

A surprise hit, Hot Wheels Unleashed lets you do exactly what the title says: unleash your collection of droolworthy Hot Wheels cars. The classic arcade-style racer boasts of stunning graphics and an impressive collection of Hot Wheels cars, from vintage editions to futuristic gems. Best part? This is one of those rare modern-day games that come with a two-player spilt-screen mode. Even Forza Horizon 5 doesn’t have one!

Injustice 2

Ever wondered who is stronger — Superman or Wonder Woman? Ever wondered what would happen if Robin took on the Batman himself? Well, with Injustice 2, you don’t have to wonder anymore as you can pit your favourite DC superheroes and supervillains against one another in classic Arcade-style brawls. Despite a frustrating Loot Box model, Injustice 2 offers hours of genuine fun. And yes, just like any other fighting games, Injustice 2 comes with couch multiplayer support as well!

Superhot

If you haven’t tried Superhero, we’d wager now is the best time to experience this surreal first-person shooter with one the most interesting game mechanics we have seen in a long time. To put it simply, in Superhot, time only moves when you move within the game. While this can offer an incredible advantage, letting you take advantage of the time-pause feature to figure out your next move to dodge slowly approaching bullets. However, the game is more challenging than you can imagine. For starters, your health bar will never regenerate. Perplexing and gorgeous, Superhot is not a title you’d want to miss, especially since now its free!

From the above, only Hot Wheels Unleashed will be available to PS5 users, whereas PS4 users can access all three games. However, you can always use the PS5’s backward compatibility feature to load and enjoy any PS4 games you want. So it’s a win-win for everybody.
