New Delhi: Fall Guys, the hilarious hurdle-based battle royale, is set to become free-to-play in June. Launched in 2020, Fall Guys is marked by matches of up to 60 players who must navigate their jellybean-looking characters through Takeshi’s Castle-style obstacle courses and become the “last bean standing” to win. While the game was initially available only on PC and the PS4, Fall Guys will also be available on the PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch as well starting next month.

Fall Guys: No longer on Steam, but nothing to worry about

Starting June 21, Fall Guys will not only go cross-platform but will also support cross-progression across all devices. The latter feature will be supported via Epic Games Account. Since the game will debut on Epic Games Store, it should be noted that PC players won’t be able to get the game via Steam any longer. However, existing players who already own a Steam copy will continue to get all the same updates as Epic Games accountholders.

Fall Guys: New season-based gameplay

Now that the game is free-to-play, Fall Guys will also follow the same season-based pass system as seen in other F2P titles such as Call of Duty: Mobile and Battlegrounds Mobile India. Aptly titled ‘Free for All’ the first season of Fall Guys will bring in a host of new levels, costumes, and “ever-evolving gameplay,” as per London-based developer Mediatonic.

Fall Guys: New in-game currency

Fall Guys will now introduce Show-Bucks, a new in-game currency that will help players buy a Season Pass, which will allow purchases of costumes and other unlockables. The game will offer 100 levels to unlock in the Season Pass at launch.

For those who have been playing Fall Guys for a long time, the game will reward 'Legacy Players' with the first Season Pass free of charge.

If you don’t wish to buy a Season Pass, you can continue on the free progression path as everyone else.

Fall Guys: Pre-registration goodies

If you pre-register for the game, you can get access to a bunch of rewards, including the Melonhead costume, burger pattern, and the muscleman emote — to name a few. You can pre-register here, and as more users sign up, more goodies will be available at launch.
