Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has finally offered a first look for eager fans, as developer Infinity Ward dropped a “World Reveal Trailer” on June 8. It has already garnered over eight million views on YouTube within less than 24 hours, reflecting the immense following the first-person shooter franchise enjoys despite being an annual release. The trailer showcases what players can expect from the upcoming campaign. This includes the comeback of Task Force 141 and enough explosions worthy of a Michael Bay blockbuster.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Trailer — Watch here

The new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is set to the tunes of J Balvin’s cover of Metallica’s “Wherever I May Roam,” which seems apt because the shooter will see players embark on a “globe-trotting single-player,” as per Infinity Ward.

You start off with an intense montage of one of the scripted events in the game, where you take out a convoy of trucks while hanging upside down from a helicopter. The Call of Duty franchise is known for its nail-biting scripted events, and from the looks of it, Modern Warfare 2 doesn’t appear to be any different.

As the trailer progresses, you are introduced to the protagonists, including Task Force 141 legends such as Captain Price, Soap, and Ghost.

While the trailer mostly showcased the single-player campaign, Modern Warfare 2 will also offer its immensely popular multiplayer modes as well, including new locales and fresh ways to take out enemies.

Interestingly, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will also offer an “evolved, narrative-driven” Special Ops mode that will bring tactical co-op gameplay.

Apart from all of the above, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 promises to deliver a “massive calendar of free content post-launch featuring evolving gameplay with new maps, modes, seasonal events, community celebrations, and more.”
