Krafton's widely acclaimed battle royale game, BGMI, is eagerly preparing for its next update, causing excitement among players. The upcoming update, version 3.1, brings a plethora of new features, content additions, a fresh game mode, skins, recalls, and more. Additionally, BGMI is making an intriguing change in this update by discontinuing support for specific Android and iOS versions.
As per an announcement on the official BGMI Discord server, the game will cease to support devices running Android 4.4 or iOS 10 and older versions. This decision aims to enhance both the gaming and customer support experiences through an upgrade to Helpshift.
Fortunately, this change is unlikely to affect many users, considering that the latest versions for Android and iOS are Android 14 and iOS 17, respectively. Notably, Android 4.4 (also known as Android KitKat) was released over a decade ago in 2013, while iOS 10 was last seen accompanying the iPhone 5s and 5C in 2016. If you are still using devices with these outdated versions, it is advisable to update them promptly not only for gaming purposes but also for cybersecurity reasons. Once the update rolls out, players with devices running these older Android and iOS versions will no longer be able to access the game.
