May 3 marks that World Laughter Day this year to spread laughter all around the globe. It is believed that laughing helps to cure many problems that could be emotional or physical as 'Laughter is the best medicine.' The first celebration was marked on May 10, 1998, in Mumbai and was arranged by Dr Madan Kataria, founder of the worldwide Laughter Yoga movement. Dr Kataria, a family doctor in India, was inspired to start the Laughter Yoga movement in part by the facial feedback hypothesis, which postulates that a person's facial expressions can have an effect on their emotions. The main purpose of celebrating this day is to promote international laughter and to create awareness about its healing benefits through Laughter Clubs. It is a positive manifestation for world peace and is intended to build up a global consciousness of brotherhood and friendship through laughter.

To keep up the spirit of the day, here are a few comedy shows from past that have always made us 'Laugh out loud'!

Khichdi 'Khichdi' has always been a cult classic and one of the most admired family entertainers of the past. The hilarious serial is about a Gujarati family struggling with many typically Indian situations. However, what makes the show tickle is bellies is that they try to solve it in the most atypical fashion imaginable. This is a funny bunch of people that is firmly united in their movement to get separated.
Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai This show revolves around the family of Sarabhais who are rich and have welcomed daughter-in-law who belongs to Middle class. While Monisha (Bahu) can't get over her middle class take on everything, Maya (Sasu-maa) never misses a chance to take a dig at her! Moreover, Rosesh’s poems are just too hilarious to ignore. Tu Tu Mai Mai Rightly going by the title, the show Tu Tu Mai Mai is about the love-hate chemistry between daughter-in-law and mother-in-law. Comedy Nights With Kapil Kapil Sharma is often hailed as the undisputed king of Indian comedy. Keeping up the spirit of 'Entertainer of the Year 2013' award, Kapil Sharma has continued to entertain audience with his jokes and comic interaction with celebrities at his show 'Comedy Nights with Kapil'. Mr. Bean The list cannot be complete without it!
