New Delhi: Giving the fans a rejoice in the New Year, Prime Video today dropped a promo video featuring Shahid Kapoor. Shahid Kapoor's collaboration with 'The Family Man' director duo Raj & DK has created a lot of anticipation among fans. Shahid Kapoor is collaborating with the director duo for 'Farzi' , a web series which will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
On Wednesday, Shahid shared a video of himself announcing 'Farzi' on Instagram. Shahid is seen saying in the video, ' meri life ka naya phase... kya logon ko pasand ayega.. par artist to artist hota hai' before we are shown a painted canvas which says 'Farzi'.
In the video, the actor is seen taking an ‘artistic’ route where he is painting on a canvas, while envisaging a ‘new phase’ of his life. As the actor wonders if the audience will accept him in his new role, the promo video zooms in on the canvas, revealing about his upcoming Amazon Original series Farzi. After announcing his streaming debut with Raj & DK’s directorial, Farzi last year, it seems that the ‘artist’ is gearing up to unveil more details about the much-awaited crime-drama.
'Farzi' also marks Shahid Kapoor's OTT debut. The show is centered on the crime thriller genre. The show will revolve around an ambitious artist, who gets dragged into a high stakes con job. However, there is a cop out there to stop him and the cat-mouse chase is what the show is going to be about.
Besides Shahid,'Farzi' will also feature Vijay Sethupathi, Raashi Khanna, Kay Kay Menon and Regina Cassandra.
'Farzi' is expected to be released in February 2023.
Meanwhile, Shahid did not have a great 2022 with films like 'Jersey' bombing at the box office after multiple release date delays. The film garnered a lot of appreciation upon release on Netflix but that did not save the film on the box office. 'Jersey' also starrer Pankaj Tripathi and Mrunal Thakur.
