New Delhi: Abhishek Banerjee rose to fame with his spine-chilling character in 'Paatal Lok'. The talented actor has garnered immense praise and a unique fan following by playing versatile roles in multiple projects including 'Pitchers' and 'Stree', 'Bhediya'. He is now set to be seen playing one of the significant characters in the Venkatesh and Rana Daggubati starrer Rana Naidu, which is the highly anticipated crime-thriller series on Netflix.

The makers have recently dropped the trailer of the web show, which is all set to stream from March 10. During the trailer launch event, Abhishek shared his thought on his character in the show and said that he was looking for something that challenges him more.

He shared, "It is by far the most difficult character I have attempted. It was way out of my comfort zone.. lately I have been doing all the UPites and North Indian characters, which made people think I am from Kanpur Ilahabad. But I was looking for something that challenged me more. And I think, whenever you have to get to some kind of diction or like an accent which is not very familiar to you then I think you start thinking about it more. So, to do that was the most challenging part for me."

"You will see, how messed up my character is when you'll see the show. To just mess up my mind for a character and thanks to Suparn (Verma) and Karan (Anshuman) I think they both have a very dark mind. So I think they went way beyond the original," he added.

The trailer of 'Rana Naidu', the Indian adaptation of Ray Donovan, dropped on Wednesday. The series marks the coming together of two of Telugu cinema's megastars, the nephew-uncle duo Rana Daggubati, who plays the titular character and Venkatesh Daggubati, who essays Venky Naidu in the series. They play father and son in the series who are up against each other.

It follows the life of Rana Naidu (Rana), the go-to guy for everyone in Bollywood when they have a problem, and his tense equation with his estranged father Naga (Venkatesh). Rana Naidu does the dirty work for the top power players, making the problems of the city's celebrities, superstar athletes, and business moguls disappear.

Looking at a power packed line-up of projects ahead, Abhishek will be also seen in 'Stree 2', 'Dream Girl 2' and 'Apurva'.
