New Delhi: Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday starrer 'Liger' is taking a bad beating at the box office. So much has been the negative criticism around the film that 'Liger' has also become one of the lowest rated films on rating site IMDb. With a 3/10 rating by more than 37 K people on IMDb, 'Liger' seems to have become talk of the town for various reasons. According to reports, Vijay is heartbroken with the performance of the film and the final product of the film which he saw in theatres.

Since 'Liger' happened to be a pan-India debut for Vijay Deverakonda, the poor performance on the box office across the country is even more disheartening. Even though the film is trending in various circuits and on IMDb's list on number 33, 'Liger' hasn't made a mark.

Recently, the film's producer Charmme Kaur had spoken about the back-to-back flops for Bollywood on the box office and how 'scary' the situation had become. "People have access to better content in one click just by sitting at home. The whole family can watch the biggest budget films on television, and until you don’t really excite them, they aren’t coming to the theatres," Charmme told Free Press Journal. “But, this is not the case in Bollywood. In August, three Telugu films - Bimbisara, Sita Ramam, and Karthikeya 2 - did phenomenally well, which made Rs. 150–170 crores. It happened in the same country. It is difficult to understand since it doesn’t mean people in the South are crazy for films. It is a scary and depressing situation," the producer said

After ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, ‘Liger’ also faced ‘Boycott Bollywood’ and 'Boycott Liger' trend on various social platforms causing many to negatively rate the film even before it’s release.

'Liger's Hindi version collected Rs. 4.5 crores on Friday while Rs. 1.25 crores on Thursday. 'Liger' is also released in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Kannada across India.
