New Delhi: On Friday morning at around 4.30 a.m., veteran actor Arun Bali passed away. He was suffering from Myasthenia Gravis, a rare and long-lasting disease that affects the nerves and muscles. The actor's condition was made public in January of this year when he was taken to Hiranandani Hospital in Mumbai.
Ankush Bali, son of the late actor, confirms that his father would be cremated this coming Saturday as family members travel from the United States to be there.
According to PTI, Arun’s son said, "My father left us. He was suffering from Myasthenia gravis. He had mood swings for two-three days. He told the caretaker he wanted to go to the washroom and after coming out he told him he wanted to sit down and he never got up then."
Arun Bali has two daughters who live in the United States. They will arrive on October 8th. Following that, the actor's last rites will be conducted.
Over the years, Arun Bali has been in a wide variety of movies and TV shows. His best works include 3 Idiots, Kedarnath, Panipat, Hey Ram, Dand Nayak, Ready, Zameen, Policewala Gunda, Phool Aur Angaar, and Raam Jane. The filmmaking skills of Arun Bali have been recognized with a National Award.
The actor was most recently featured in the films ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, which starred Aamir Khan and ‘Goodbye’, which starred Amitabh Bachchan.
Arun has wowed audiences in several languages like Hindi, Telugu, and Punjabi. Starring as grandfathers like Harshvardhan Wadhwa in ‘Kumkum’ propelled Arun Bali to prominence in the 2000s. He also co-starred with Shah Rukh Khan in the film ‘Doosra Kewal.’ In the 1991 film ‘Chanakya’, he played the role of King Porus. He also portrayed Kunwar Singh in Doordarshan's smash hit series ‘Swabhimaan’.
