New Delhi: The audience has got to witness actor Tom Hanks' anger in one of the rarest moments, when the actor lost his cool after his wife, Rita Wilson, nearly fell down on being pushed by a fan. The celeb couple was leaving a restaurant in New York, on Wednesday, when they got flocked by fans.

In a video going viral on social media, Tom and Rita can be seen surrounded by fans as they make way towards their parked vehicle. As the fans came too close, one of them accidentally pushed Rita, causing her to almost fall. Tom lent her support and angrily shouted at the crowd for making his wife fall over. In a disgusted tone, he yelled, "Back the .... off. Knocking over my wife!"

While a bystander can be seem sympathising with Tom, the paparazzi can be heard apologising for the incident, later in the video.

As soon as the video began trending on social media, netizens came in support of the 'Forrest Gump' actor, calling his anger justified.

One twitter user wrote, "Tom is completely in the right. Being famous does not mean you are public property and therefore open to harassment. Be respectful, people! #TomHanks #RitaWilson"

While another user defended the actor by tweeting, "Ok, being nice doesn’t mean you’re a doormat to be walked all over. He didn’t strike anyone and defended his wife. Just because they’re celebrities doesn’t mean they’re not entitled to their personal space. #TomHanks is still a nice guy in my book!"

On the work front, Tom Hanks is currently busy promoting his upcoming film 'Elvis', a biopic of singer-actor Elvis Presley. The actor essays the role of Elvis' manager, Tom Parker in the film while Andrew Butler will be seen as Elvis.
