New Delhi: Dev Entertainment Ventures revealed the teaser of their much awaited Durga Puja release, 'Bagha Jatin'. Dev along with the Sudipta Chakraborty, Sreeja Dutta, Arun Roy and the other cast & crew members were present for the Teaser launch. The film is inspired from the life and journey of Shri Jatindranath Mukherjee, one of the significant figures in the History of India's struggle for independence.
The movie is set to narrate the extraordinary tale of Jatindranath's fearless spirit, unwavering determination and unconditional love for his motherland. Jatindranath Mukherjee later came to be known as Bagha Jatin because he fought with a tiger with his bare hands.
"Jatindranath Mukherjee is undoubtedly an inspiration for all. He is still alive in the heart of every Indian youth for his bravery and sacrifice. 'Bagha Jatin' is our Durga Puja bonanza for the audience. The movie is going to revive on screen the thrilling journey of this hero and the story has been narrated on a huge canvas in a unique way. It was indeed a daunting task for me to finely portray every shade of this particular character on the big screen. I hope the cine goers are going to enjoy the film. Moreover, the decision to present this inspiring story in Hindi will also open doors for millions of viewers across the nation to witness the story of Bagha Jatin," said Dev, who will be essaying the role of Bagha Jatin in the movie.
"In Bagha Jatin, I've had the incredible opportunity to step into the shoes of a character who, much like our brave freedom fighters of the past, knew the value of disguise in the pursuit of a greater cause. Just as they changed their looks to evade capture by the British, my character too undergoes a transformation to keep the flames of resistance burning. It's a humbling experience to portray this untold chapter of our history and pay tribute to those who fought valiantly for our freedom," he further added.
In addition to him, Arun Roy, who is the Director of the film said, "The story captures the essence of the particular period of India's struggle for its Freedom and Empowerment. Dev in the author backed role, along with the actors did absolute justice to their respective on screen characters. The movie aims to entertain as well as highlight the rich culture and history of our country. We hope to receive appreciation and strong support from the audience."
Talking about Dev's look in the movie, the audience will find him in a new avatar, showcasing a very rough one. At the time of the British Raj, the freedom fighters often used to take shelter in various places and used to take a disguise to skip being caught. These would help them in executing their freedom movement without hassles. Make up artist Somnath Kundu has created Dev's look in the film.
