New Delhi: ‘The Crown’ is a popular television series which premieres on Netflix. This historical drama is based on the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. Created by Peter Morgan, the first season of ‘The Crown’ covers the period from 1947 when Elizabeth and Philip get married to the dissolution of her sister Princess Margaret’s engagement to Group Captain Peter Townsend in 1955. The second season of the series covers the period from Suez Crisis in 1956 to the birth of Prince Edward in 1964. The third season of ‘The Crown’ introduces Camilla Shand, who is currently the Duchess of Cornwall and the second wife of Prince Charles. This season spans from the period between 1964 and 1977.

The makers of ‘The Crown’ has recently dropped the trailer of the fourth season pinpointing the tensions between Queen Elizabeth and the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Margaret Thatcher. This fourth season of the royal drama will span from the period of 1977 to 1990 and will also introduce Lady Diana Spencer’s character into the series. ‘The Crown’ season 4 will magnify Diana’s surge from teenager to a public figure. Emma Corrin will portray the role of Princess Diana.

‘The Crown’ changes its cast every two seasons and a new cast joins in to portray the designated role of Queen Elizabeth and other important characters in the series. Claire Foy illustrates the role of Queen Elizabeth II in the first two seasons. The series has received 39 nominations for its first three seasons and is not only popular but also critically acclaimed.

Season 4 of ‘The Crown’ will also introduce Prince William and Prince Harry and will depict the famous wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer.

Meanwhile, the fifth and sixth season will close the series depicting the Queen’s reign into the 21st century.
