New Delhi: Ranbir Kapoor attended his first major international event as a father. The actor went to Saudi Arabia for the Red Sea International Film Festival. During the conversation at the festival, he disclosed his deepest disappointment in the box-office performance of ‘Jagga Jasoos’, a project dear to his heart.
The actor told Deadline, “It’s a film that I produced. It was a passion project. It was directed by Anurag Basu. It was a very heartwarming and sweet idea, but it didn’t do well, which really hurt. That’s the only film in my career that hurt me.”
Shamshera, his most recent film, was also a massive flop in India after COVID-19. Talking about it, Ranbir said, "It was a big box office disaster, but the biggest mistake I made on Shamshera was that I stuck on a beard. When you’re shooting in the heat, and you stick on a beard, it’s like your face is melting."
Ranbir Kapoor appeared in a dual role for the first time in this film. This historical action movie was helmed by Karan Malhotra.
Additionally, Ranbir disclosed whether or not he plans to make a Hollywood debut like his actress wife Alia Bhatt, who will make her debut in the upcoming film ‘Heart of Stone’. The actor said he would never say never, but that he is content with the roles he is getting in his native country and language.
The last time the actor appeared on-screen was in the sci-fi action movie 'Brahmastra: Part 1- Shiva'.
On the work front, Alia Bhatt will next be featured in Karan Johar's 'Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani'. Ranbir Kapoor, on the other hand, is currently shooting with Shraddha Kapoor for the next, untitled romantic comedy directed by Luv Ranjan.
