New Delhi: Television actors Shehzada Dhami and Pratiksha Honmukhe, who played Armaan and Ruhi in ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, have recently been sacked overnight from the popular show. The termination of their contracts on March 18 by producer Rajan Shahi was attributed to what was described as 'unprofessional behavior,' with reports suggesting that their actions were impeding the show's productivity. Speculation about the actors' romantic involvement has also surfaced.

Garvita Sadhwani has been brought in to portray Ruhi, while Rohit Purohit will now be seen as Armaan. According to Pinkvilla report, Shehzada Dhami remained unreachable for several days following the termination but eventually responded to communication attempts.

When asked about the situation, Dhami chose not to comment, and told Pinkvilla, "Mujhe kuch nahi kehna hai isspar (I don’t want to say anything on this.) I am not ready to talk about it yet."

There have been rumours circulating about Shehzada Dhami's potential participation in Bigg Boss OTT 3 following his departure from the show. However, the actor has been reserved in his response, stating, "Mai kuch tippani nahi karna chahta hoon isspar (I don’t want to comment on it).”

Recently actor Samridhii Shukla, who portrays Abhira in the series, shared romantic stills with Rohit Purohit's character, Armaan. Samridhii captioned the images, “Abhira aur Armaan, shuru hogi ab pyaar ki kahani“.

Fans of the show have expressed their support for the change in characters, with many leaving positive comments on Samridhii’s post. One fan expressed, “I am really happy that finally samriddhi getting the position she deserves”, while another noted, “Ab laga Abhira aur armaan main lead hai (Now it feels like Abhira and Armaan are leads)”. A fan page of the actor commented, “Thisss is called chemistryyyyy!!!).”

Production house on why they were sacked from the show
Earlier, a statement issued by the team of Shahi’s production house Director’s Kut Production had explained the circumstances leading to this decision. It asserted that Shehzada Dhami exhibited a pattern of unprofessional conduct from the onset of his tenure, reportedly displaying a lack of adherence to work ethics, frequently causing disruptions on set with his tantrums and mistreatment of the crew. Despite attempts to address the issue, his behaviour persisted, prompting the production to take decisive action. Conversely, Pratiksha Honmukhe's departure stemmed from her failure to fulfill the requirements of her character. As a newcomer, she was under the tutelage of the production house but failed to meet the expected standards.
