New Delhi: Veteran actress Rajeeta Kochhar passed away on December 23 in Mumbai. She was 70. According to the Times of India, the actress died due to renal failure.
Rajeeta has worked in many films and tv shows like , Manikarnika, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Hatim, Kavach and many more. Rajeeta Kochhar is survived by her husband Rajesh Kochhar and daughter Kapisha.
Rajeeta’s niece Nupur Kampani informed Times of India that she had a brain stroke in September last year and suffered paralysis. “She had a brain stroke in September last year, following which she suffered from paralysis. However, she gradually got better but on Tuesday (December 20), she complained of breathlessness and stomach pain. So, we got her admitted to a hospital. Her health deteriorated yesterday, and she had to be put on a ventilator. She passed away around 10.15 pm,” she was quoted as saying by Times of India.
Nupur also said that the actress was like her mother. “She may not be my biological mother, but she was more than a mother to me. She brought me up and I took care of her. She was selfless, full of life and passionate about her craft. She loved everyone and only spread love. She had never spoken ill about anyone. She always told us to see the positive in everyone,” she added.
Nupur also recalled her last conversation with Rajeeta where in the actress thanked Nupur for everything. “When I met her in the evening (December 23), she held my hand and thanked me for everything. I told her that she had to live for me, and she gave me a thumbs up. That was the last conversation we had. I feel she knew that she was going,” she told Times of India.
Rajeeta had been part of many popular television shows.
