Vijayendra Kumeria and Meera Deosthale starrer ‘Udaan’ is one of the most popular shows on Colors TV. The social drama, which is based on the issue of bonded labour in rural areas, has been entertaining the viewers since August 18, 2014. The show has been appreciated for its crisp storyline and brilliant performances of the stars cast. Speculations are rife that ‘Udaan’ will soon bid adieu to the viewers and will be replaced by Shaheer Sheikh and Sonarika Bhadoria’s ‘Dastaan-E-Mohabbat: Salim Anarkali’ at the 8:30pm slot.

A report in an entertainment portal suggested that the show will end in the last week of September.

“Udaan will be ending in the last week of September. The decision has been taken by the channel, and the Writers’ Galaxy big-budget show, Dastaan-E-Mohabbat: Salim Anarkali will be taking over the slot,’’ a source told IWMBuzz.

The TRPs of ‘Udaan’ have been dwindling since the past few months and rumours of the show’s closure were floating in the media. However, there a chances that the show may be shifted to a new time slot.

A source close to the show told us, ‘’Udaan. despite competition from ‘Taarak Mehta’ and ‘Kulfi Kumar Bajewala’, is faring decent on the rating charts and there’s a possibility the show will be shifted to a new time slot. The picture will be clear in the next few days.’’

Talking about ‘Udaan’, the show started focused on the story of Chakor, played by Spandan Chaturvedi’, a free spirited girl who is kept as collateral (girvhi) to the rich landlord. After a ten-year leap, Meera Deosthale took over the helms and played the grown-up Chakor.

The show has now shifted its focus on Suraj and Chakor’s daughter Anjor played by Samriddhi Yadav. The daily soap recently witnessed the the entry of Mohammad Nazim as Gumaan Singh Rajvanshi.
