Ekta confirmed the news of her marriage to a leading daily and said, "It was a low-key affair and we got married at an Arya Samaj Mandir. I wanted our wedding anniversary to coincide with my birthday. In fact, Sushant wasn't even aware of the shaadi plan till I broke the news to him at midnight while cutting my birthday cake. We haven't had a long courtship, but we started staying together soon after we realised that we were made for each other."
Ekta celebrated her birthday on 1st August and even shared some pictures from the celebrations on Instagram. She captioned the pictures as, "#2k17 #birthday #album 1st August #family #love #fun #enjoyment #blessing ????????????????????????????"

Coming back to the marriage, the two actors got married in a private ceremony attended by family and close friends. The two met during the shoot of ‘Crime Patrol’ and fell in love with each other.
Not only the marriage but the couple's honeymoon was also different as their famlies also accompanied them to Goa.
Speaking about the same, Ekta further told TOI that, "I planned it as a surprise family outing, as Sushant was planning a trip to Goa for both of us on my birthday. I lied him that I have invited a few friends as well. I don't think anyone has had such a honeymoon yet."
Ekta’s husband Sushant has also acted in TV shows as well as a Hindi film titled ‘Badlapur Boys’.
