Both the successful ladies of the recent time began their careers playing bahus for Ekta Kapoor’s cult shows - Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki respectively. Launched in the early 2000s both the shows garnered immense popularity & made Smrit aka Tulsi of 'KSBKBT' and Sakshi of 'KGGK' a household name.

However, while Sakshi still manages to do TV, films and even web-series, Smriti has moved away from acting and went into politics. Currently she is the Union Cabinet Minister of Textiles.
